The VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) is a highly regarded dermatological tool predominantly used for treating vascular skin conditions on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms and legs.It is safe and effective to treat minor skin conditions to improve your complexion.

  • Rosacea – A condition that is characterized by facial flushing and redness and sometimes pimple-like bumps. Rosacea can be effectively managed with VBeam treatments to reduce redness and visible blood vessels.
  • PigmentedScars – The color and texture of scars can be improved with VBeam treatments to make them less noticeable. VBeam is especially beneficial for red, raised scars, including acne scars.
  • Spider veins (Telangiectasias) – Spider veins, also called broken capillaries, are prominent clusters of small, damaged blood vessels on the skin of the face and legs. They appear as thin red, blue or purple lines and may bulge and branch out creating a spider web appearance. They cause no medical problems and are associated with aesthetic concerns. People with some types of rosacea can experience spider veins and skin flushing. Spider veins are also associated with sun exposure. They can be diminished with VBeam treatments.
  • Angiomas (red birthmarks, also called port wine stains) – These are benign tumors caused by a buildup of blood vessels. They can occur anywhere on the body but are common on the face and chest. They appear as red or purple lumps. They are harmless. VBeam treatments can remove these discolorations.
  • Warts – Warts are fed by blood vessels. VBeam pulsed dye laser treatments can quickly destroy the blood vessels that feed warts.
  • Melasma – Patches of darkened skin are a common occurrence that affects up to 50% of pregnant people, and up to one third of the population. It is triggered by hormones and sun exposure.
  • Sun Damage on the face and neck – VBeam treatments can safely and effectively remove sun spots, age spots, freckles and hyperpigmentation.
  • Wrinkles – VBeam treatments can decrease fine lines and wrinkles and reduce pore size.
  • Stretch marks – Newly formed stretch marks can be treated with the VBeam laser

How does it work?

The laser produces intense pulses of laser light that selectively destroys the blood vessels that create vascular lesions, without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser energy is absorbed by blood vessels beneath the skin, destroying the pigment.

What is the procedure?

Most patients say it feels like a snapping rubber band. You will sit or lie down. Your skin will be cleaned, and you will wear goggles to protect your eyes. This laser does not cut, burn or harm the skin.It breaks up the pigments, which are removed naturally by the body.

The hand piece is positioned against the area to be treated and is moved over the area.During a VBeam treatment, patients may experience a warming sensation or a feeling similar to a rubber band snap. To increase comfort, the VBeam includes a dynamic cooling device that sprays a cooling mist onto the skin before each laser pulse. Treatments are typically quick, and the number of sessions required depends on the severity and type of condition being treated.

After treatment you may have the sensation of a mild sunburn and redness. There may be swelling for 3-5 days after treatment and sometimes some minor bruising. Results may be seen immediately. Results depend on the number of treatments you have, and the type of lesion treated. We typically recommend 3-5 treatments spaced a month apart. After treatment you must wear sun screen and avoid direct sun exposure.
