A tribute to Dr. Paul Dean

Dr. Paul Dean founded Grossmont Dermatology Medical Clinic, now known as Coastal Skin and Eye Institute, in 1977 and cared for patients in our La Mesa practice for over 40 years.

He had a vision of making medical dermatology easily accessible to all patients and of fostering an environment where patients were treated like family and friends.

Dr. Dean’s commitment to improving people’s lives extended far beyond the office through his work with many local organizations and the International Medical Corps.

Over the years, the practice has grown to include multiple Board-Certified Dermatologists, Dermatology Physician Assistants, and now Board-Certified Ophthalmologists and Optometrists trained at the top institutions in the nation. As our team has grown, we continue to be guided by Dr Dean’s vision.
